Sealed can clarify HVAC rebates, help contractors implement them, and make the experience painless.

Struggling with HVAC Rebates? Learn How to Simplify the Process

HVAC rebates have been a hot topic over the past few years, especially regarding the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). But along with the rebates came a lot of confusion. Where can you find the rebates? How do the rebates even work?

To help out our contractors, we sat down with Ryan Bevans, Chief Revenue Officer at Sealed. Sealed is a company that helps HVAC contractors with rebates, typically focused on electrification and energy efficiency. Their software and services make rebates easy to implement in your business.

Where Do HVAC Contractors Look for Rebates?

Sealed has identified two groups of contractors regarding rebates: those who embrace rebates and those unfamiliar with or hesitant to use rebates. Each group of contractors approaches HVAC rebates differently.

Contractors who embrace rebates may know more about available rebates than you can find from a Google search. They’re actively looking for rebates and may hear about them through distributors or other partners.

Those unfamiliar with or hesitant to use rebates typically don’t go out of their way to look for them. They find out about rebates in the marketplace, typically when they lose a customer to a contractor who embraces rebates. While they can start learning about rebates online through their state or Energy Star, navigating can be overwhelming.

If this second type of contractor sounds like you, Sealed can help you navigate HVAC rebates. They meet you where you are — physically and mentally. They’ll come to your office to teach you about available rebates and help you implement them.

What Are the Three Biggest Pain Points of HVAC Rebates?

The three biggest pain points for contractors when it comes to HVAC rebates are:

  • Taking time to learn the rebate program
  • Implementing the rebate
  • Cash flow

In our video interview, Ryan Bevans goes into more detail about these pain points.

What Types of HVAC Rebates or Incentives Exist?

While much discussion surrounds IRA rebates, many more HVAC rebates and incentives are available. There are three main types:

  • Deemed rebates pay a fixed amount for a specific project, but are typically more complicated than they seem at face value.
  • Modeled rebates pay out based on energy-saving predictions from modeling software.
  • Measured rebates pay out based on actual energy savings after the project is completed.

The Bottom Line

Rebates may seem complicated, but Sealed can help support you and make it painless. Visit Sealed’s website for more information or to get in touch.
